Yeah, I'm a little late. February 1 was global switch day, a day dedicated to switching away from big tech platforms and moving to more privacy-friendly platforms.

Last year I wrote 30 Days In, My Pixel 6a with GrapheneOS about how my phone was setup. The entire setup was cumbersome, and I gave up on the multiple profiles. Well, one year later this is how I'm setup, and it's working very well for me.

After the news broke that WordPress and Tumblr would be selling users' data to train AI tools (404 Media) I decided to start looking for a new CMS to migrate my sites to. While I didn't use Automattic's hosted WordPress (WordPress.com) and instead the self-hosted, open source WordPress (WordPress.org), I've been generally unhappy with WP for a long time, and I certainly do not support their decision.

I’ve been using ROMs to remove Google’s crap on my Android phones since the Motorola DROID. In the last few years I’ve used both LineageOS for microG (on my Pixel 1) and CalyxOS (on my Pixel 3a), relying on microG for push notifications. At the end of December 2023 I purchased a used Pixel 6a.
