Last night’s National Call to Action for Faith Communities

Mar 15, 2025 | Uncategorized

Last night I joined the National Call to Action for Faith Communities in discussion about how faith communities can stand up and stand together in opposition of the current Christian Nationalist administration here in the US.

We have to build a new faith narrative. We’ve got to tell a new story about faith in this country. And it can’t always be about what we’re against because the problem is that they’re telling people what they’re for–it’s all wrong–but they’re telling people what they’re for. We have to tell people what God is for. What faith is for. How faith is welcoming, inclusive, how it’s building, it’s empowering, it’s liberating, it’s setting people free. How’s it’s loving on people and not hating on people, which is really what this story is being told.

There is a national day of action scheduled for this Saturday, April 5. More information is available at HandsOff2025. Indivisible has some great printable signs available for the event.

Since I logged on using my cell phone, I don’t have all the links that were discussed during the call. But here is a list of the organizations represented:

Edit: Interfaith Alliance published a blog post with the YouTube video embedded, as well as the links presented in the call.
